Chapter 1: Introduction to the Interview
In the autumn of 2023, I had the pleasure of being interviewed by Mark Hess, where we delved into the findings from my recent book, The Five Levels of Gifted Children Grown Up: What They Tell Us (2023). This engaging discussion highlighted key insights from my longitudinal research on gifted children who had previously been featured in my earlier work, 5 Levels of Gifted: School Issues and Educational Options (2005, 2009).

Section 1.1: The Focus of Our Discussion
During our conversation, Dr. Hess and I explored my significant discoveries from following up with gifted children who are now adults. In my initial study, I collaborated with the families of 78 gifted children to illustrate various degrees and categories of giftedness. We emphasized how early behavioral milestones and interests can provide insights into the intelligence levels of gifted children even before formal assessments.
Subsection 1.1.1: The 2023 Book Insights
The 2023 publication serves as a longitudinal follow-up, examining over two-thirds of the gifted children from my first book, now grown into gifted adults. Unlike the initial work, which gathered perspectives from parents, this follow-up benefited from firsthand accounts through interviews with the now-adult subjects.
