The Paradox of Phentermine's Popularity: A Tale of Two Platforms

Written on

Medium serves as a meaningful platform where words resonate deeply within a global community dedicated to sharing knowledge and experiences. I am composing this piece from my secondary account, Dr. Mehmet Yildiz (Tech), meant for curating insightful stories. My primary account, Dr. Mehmet Yildiz, boasts a larger following primarily from health and science enthusiasts.

On Medium.com, I have authored over 2500 articles covering a wide array of topics, including health, wellness, fitness, longevity, and personal development, all reflecting my extensive research and personal insights. My articles are showcased on EUPHORIA, my personal publication dedicated to my supportive subscribers, and I also assist 28,000 writers through my public publications.

In this post, I wish to share a unique experience. Recently, I wrote an article discussing the promising impact of GLP-1 receptor agonists (GLP1-RAs) in aiding individuals dealing with diabetes, osteoarthritis, and dementia. This significant piece highlights the effectiveness of newer medications like Tirzepatide and Semaglutide, supported by encouraging clinical trial results.

Insightful health research on GLP1-RAs

Following its release, many readers expressed interest and reached out to ask about my insights on Phentermine. My extensive research on this medication has revealed its notable cognitive effects.

I informed my subscribers that I had previously written two articles on Phentermine for Medium and one for NewsBreak, which surprisingly amassed over a million views.

Phentermine research insights

Interestingly, many of my subscribers were unaware of my Medium articles on this subject. Curious, I decided to analyze the performance of my Phentermine pieces on Medium.com.

What I discovered was concerning: neither article received adequate distribution, with views largely stemming from direct links shared within my social networks. The Medium algorithm appeared to limit their visibility.

This revelation was disheartening, as I applied the same dedication to writing those stories as I did to my more widely circulated pieces on Medium. These articles are crucial in sharing my independent research, showcasing both the advantages and disadvantages of Phentermine, free from pharmaceutical influence. The reason for the lack of visibility on Medium remains unclear.

I suspect the Medium algorithm may have restricted broader distribution, potentially due to its association with a controversial medication that had faced stigma following an FDA recall.

Conversely, it seems NewsBreak found these stories more appealing, as some scientifically backed articles on Medium did not gain traction there. Each platform has distinct objectives, distribution methods, and audiences.

As I mentioned in a previous article, I have started repurposing some impactful pieces for NewsBreak to engage new audiences who might benefit from my research. NewsBreak serves as an additional platform for my work.

My primary focus remains on Medium due to its dynamic and supportive global community, which motivates me to invest my time in writing, editing, and curating content there. Additionally, I have concerns regarding hate speech on NewsBreak, as I have documented before.

Unexpectedly, some of my stories gained viral popularity on NewsBreak, with top articles attracting over a million views each, discussing vital health topics like diabetes and erectile dysfunction in older adults. Notably, one article focuses on Phentermine, while another examines Sildenafil (Viagra), both of which are well-researched medications with diverse applications.

This brief post from my secondary account is not a complaint but an observation I wish to share with my readers. While I respect the varying approaches of different platforms, I want to emphasize that I have explored the intriguing molecule, Phentermine, through multiple lenses in two separate articles, drawing from my comprehensive research and experiences.
