Welcome to ILLUMINATION Integrated Publications on Medium! We're excited to have you join our vibrant community of over 23,000 writers. This diverse group is committed to fostering ethical storytelling, and we have a few important guidelines to help maintain a safe and supportive environment.
We are thrilled to have you on board and eagerly anticipate the opportunity to read, publish, and promote your stories. To ensure a smooth onboarding process, we have prepared a concise onboarding pack that outlines what you need to know.
Since 2021, we have implemented an onboarding procedure to welcome new contributors to our publications. After your accounts are added, we tag them so that you can access crucial information. However, we've noticed that some writers are not receiving notifications or accessing the onboarding pack, which contains essential details. This has led to issues like stories being submitted without appropriate photo captions or in violation of our policies.
Recently, we encountered a technical glitch where some newly added writers couldn't access the publications. The Medium system struggles to manage a large number of accounts, causing complications. We have taken steps to rectify this by re-adding those accounts and tagging them for access to our publications.
As you begin your journey with us, please take a moment to review the key points in the onboarding pack, which includes all necessary information. If you are an experienced writer, you may already be familiar with most of these details, but if you’re new to Medium, understanding how the platform operates is essential.

How to Submit Your Stories to Publications
Once you've drafted your story, click on the three dots in the upper right corner and select "Add to publication." Choose either ILLUMINATION or another relevant publication, and submit your story. Once in the publication queue, our editors will review it for potential publication. If it does not meet the criteria, they will send you a private message for revisions or suggest transferring it to another publication.
Common Issues Causing Delays in Publishing
One major problem is that new writers sometimes forget to add captions to images or use copyrighted material. This can lead to serious legal consequences. Our editors strive to protect you from these situations, so please adhere to their requests regarding image usage. It's crucial to understand that not all images can be used freely, especially those behind paywalls.
AI-Generated Content Policy
Our publications do not accept content generated by artificial intelligence tools, but we have created a dedicated space for such submissions: the Lampshade of ILLUMINATION.

We have recently re-added several accounts. If you encounter any issues, please reach out to Dr. Yildiz via Slack. An invitation to our moderated Slack workspace will be sent to you. This space is optional but beneficial for connecting with editors and fellow writers.
