Imagine yourself as a laid-back digital nomad, relaxing on a beach in Bali with a laptop, earning money while enjoying life with great company. However, let’s face it: the reality of being a digital nomad isn’t quite that picturesque.
The good news is that you can still make a decent living working from your laptop for just 2 to 4 hours a day. That’s precisely how I built a $4,500 monthly income at the young age of 18.
My $4.5k Monthly Income
The foundation of my income was online writing. Don't let the thought of not being a "writer" discourage you; I wasn’t born with these abilities either. My early articles barely received any views, and after writing over 100 pieces, I earned only a few cents per article.
But perseverance paid off, and now I consistently earn $4,500 a month through writing. This is just the beginning of my writing adventure.
Build Your Own Income Stream
I often say that writing is not a complex task; anyone can succeed if they follow the long-term writing phases that helped me reach my $4.5k monthly goal. You don’t need expensive courses, nor do you have to be in the top 1% of writers to earn a living through writing.

Two-Hour Writer Concept
What does it mean to be a two-hour writer? This concept, which I learned from my favorite author Dan Koe, emphasizes the importance of writing for two hours each day. This consistent practice is essential for mastering writing and building a solo business.
During my initial 100 articles, my sole focus was on enhancing my writing skills without obsessing over views or income. Incremental improvement — just 1% each day — was my guiding principle for mastering writing.
Here’s how you can adopt this method:
- Dedicate two hours daily to writing.
- Make gradual improvements with each article, focusing on elements like:
- Headlines
- Article Structure
- Calls to Action
- Hooks
- Clarity in Writing
These practices will teach you more than I can articulate.
Don't Aim for Uniqueness
There's no need to possess genius-level ideas to create content that resonates. If you’re a novice writer, start by sharing your personal experiences, challenges, and solutions.
This initial phase is crucial for learning to write authentically. Once you have that foundation, be yourself. You don’t have to imitate others. Instead, analyze what successful writers are doing — look at their viral content and understand the strategies behind their success.
