Introducing Agnes Laurens: A Journey Through Writing and Music
Written on
Greetings, dear readers at ILLUMINATION! I hope you're all doing well. I find myself here, sipping coffee and attempting to convey a bit about who I am. It’s a bit tricky, as I’m not a deity, but there’s so much to share about my life and experiences rather than just about myself.
Writing Journey
For nearly a year now, I have been writing on Medium almost daily. This platform has become a beloved space for me, and the investment of time and effort truly pays off.
It was through Medium that I discovered ILLUMINATION, which feels like a warm, welcoming family. I genuinely appreciate the hard work Dr. Mehmet Yildiz puts into this publication; I can sense a shared passion from all the wonderful contributions I’ve encountered here.
Since I began my journey on Medium, my affection for writing has grown tremendously. Each day, my enthusiasm deepens, and though my earnings may still be modest, they improve month by month. The interaction and feedback from my readers are incredibly rewarding.
I often wonder how I generate so many ideas. My first notebook is filled with them, and I’ve started a second just for Medium. It’s astonishing how inspiration flows!

Music: A Core Aspect of My Life
For those who know me, music has been an integral part of my life since childhood. I initially played the cello but later switched to the violin, inspired by my sister.
Music, alongside my family and writing, is everything to me. I cherish playing the violin as much as any other aspect of my life.

In my experience, musicians tend to be emotional individuals who channel their feelings through music.

I cannot emphasize enough how much playing the violin means to me. I practice regularly and cherish the memories from my youth. I had the privilege of performing with The Youth Orchestra of The Netherlands during my teenage years.
I fondly recall our tour in Germany, performing in several grand concert halls, culminating in a concert at The Concertgebouw in Amsterdam. These experiences were incredibly fulfilling.

I also have a great admiration for Bon Jovi. I attended a concert in Hyde Park, initially planned with my sister who lived in the UK, but circumstances led to her sending a friend in her place.

Thank you for taking the time to read about my journey. I hope you have a better understanding of who I am.
