The Hidden Truth About UAPs: What Congress Is Missing

Written on

Unraveling the Secrets of UAPs

Congressional intelligence committees received a classified briefing this year regarding the UAP Task Force report. While a few lawmakers have been informed that UAPs are not hostile technologies, the majority remain largely uninformed, at least officially.

Imagine for a moment that most members of Congress have not been updated on the classified UAP task force report. These are the very individuals crafting legislation in the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) concerning UAPs. Consider those who have received the classified briefing; what insights do they possess that the NDAA fails to convey?

Let’s delve into this.

The United States government formally acknowledged Unidentified Aerial Phenomena (UAP) for the first time on June 25, 2021, through a report from the Office of the Director of National Intelligence (ODNI) and the UAP Task Force titled "Preliminary Assessment: Unidentified Aerial Phenomena."

On June 16, 2021, just days before the declassified version was released to the public, Congressman André Carson led a classified session for members of the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence and its Subcommittee on Counterterrorism, Counterintelligence, and Counterproliferation. Notably absent from this briefing were representatives from the U.S. Air Force and the newly established Space Force.

While the specifics of the briefing remain undisclosed, it is reasonable to assume that these officials not only reviewed classified documents but also viewed startling videos of UAPs. These videos likely showcased high-resolution footage of objects defying gravity, moving at extraordinary speeds, and executing sharp maneuvers that challenge our current understanding of physics. Chairman Carson remarked:

> “We have to think about the nearly 4,000 satellites that are orbiting the Earth right now. Most of those satellites have cameras attached to them. Why hasn’t any of that information been released?”

The implications of what was discussed and witnessed during those meetings are staggering. However, some insights come from Dr. Robert McGwire.

Dr. McGwire, an adjunct professor at Virginia Tech and former chief scientist at the Hume Center, holds a Ph.D. in applied mathematics from Brown University and has a keen interest in UFO research. He mentioned in a shocking statement that several individuals attended the national security council meeting, remarking:

> “I know several people who were in the national security council meeting and the best comment I heard was ‘what we had was 40 minutes of science fiction movies, we were all gobsmacked’… There were 70 pages and 14 videos; they got to see the good stuff. There was a full classified report and 14 videos… but the committees and the White House — they saw the works.”

Who Else Is Informed?

The U.S. Senate Select Committee on Intelligence (SSCI) has access to the classified report, chaired by Senator Mark Warner and vice-chaired by Senator Marco Rubio. While Warner has kept largely silent on the issue, Rubio has frequently voiced concerns about UAPs potentially being a national security risk.

The "Gang of Eight," comprising leaders from both parties in the Senate and House of Representatives with high-level clearances, also has access to the report. Additionally, the chairs and ranking members of the Senate and House Intelligence Committees, who oversee UAP projects, have seen it as well. Notably, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid served on this committee from 2007 to 2015.

Former CIA directors John Brennan, James Woolsey, and former ONI director John Ratcliffe have publicly acknowledged national security concerns tied to UAPs and likely had knowledge of the classified report's contents.

The Shift in Perspective

In 2011, the White House responded to petitions calling for the U.S. government to officially recognize the existence of extraterrestrial life and disclose any withheld interactions with such beings. Their response stated:

> “The U.S. government has no evidence that any life exists outside our planet, or that an extraterrestrial presence has contacted or engaged any member of the human race. In addition, there is no credible information to suggest that any evidence is being hidden from the public’s eye.”

Fast forward to the spring of 2021, when former President Barack Obama acknowledged that UAPs are real and under investigation by the U.S. government:

> “What is true, and I’m actually being serious here, is there’s footage and records of objects in the skies that we don’t know exactly what they are. We can’t explain how they move, their trajectory. They did not have an easily explainable path.”

The National Defense Authorization Act FY2022

In October 2021, the U.S. Congressional bill for the FY 2022 National Defense Authorization Act proposed the establishment of a new office within the Department of Defense to take over the responsibilities of the UAP Task Force. The NDAA language suggests that this new office will conduct:

> “an assessment of any activity regarding unidentified aerial phenomena that can be attributed to one or more adversarial foreign governments… Identification of any incidents or patterns regarding unidentified aerial phenomena that indicate a potential adversarial foreign government may have achieved a breakthrough aerospace capability.”

While this congressional language implies that UAPs are foreign adversarial technologies, the UAP report suggests otherwise:

> “…incidents documented over the past two decades did not originate from any American military or other advanced U.S. government technology…”

This conclusion dismisses the notion that Navy pilots who reported seeing unidentified aircraft encountered secret government programs.

What This Might Indicate

Among the 535 members of Congress, with 100 in the Senate and 435 in the House, it is estimated that only around 125 have been briefed on the classified report. Thus, roughly 75% of lawmakers have not viewed the high-resolution videos, photographs, and associated sensor data.

If you were to witness a legitimate government video of objects moving at incredible speeds and executing impossible maneuvers, you might be left questioning if this technology belonged to foreign adversaries.

It is difficult to conceive how lawmakers on intelligence committees could conclude that what they observed was technology from foreign adversaries. If American rivals had access to such technology, it would signify a monumental intelligence failure, leaving us defenseless.

Keep in mind that these are the same individuals drafting legislation in the NDAA about UAPs. Furthermore, Robert Hastings, author of "UFOs and Nukes," has interviewed over 150 military personnel, who have consistently stated:

> “…nuclear launch officers, nuclear missile targeting officers, maintenance personnel, security guards who guarded the nuclear weapons facilities, and all of those individuals have told me on tape either audio or video that in fact UFOs have routinely monitored our nuclear weapons dating back decades.”

The NDAA does not reference nuclear site incursions by UAPs. According to Hastings:

> “Nuclear weapons program is an ongoing source of interest to someone possessing vastly superior technology. Significantly, the reported UFO activity occasionally transcends mere surveillance and appears to involve direct and unambiguous interference with our strategic weapons systems.”

Additionally, Congress is overlooking thousands of historical UFO documents that contain sightings of similar crafts, exhibiting gravity-defying maneuvers reported by U.S. naval pilots today. The UAP preliminary report notes:

> “Some UAP appeared to remain stationary in winds aloft, move against the wind, maneuver abruptly, or move at considerable speed, without discernible means of propulsion.”

It is implausible that adversaries could have developed the same technology we observe today more than fifty years ago.

The unfortunate reality is that the U.S. Government and CIA have perpetuated a stigma surrounding UFOs for decades, embedding it deeply into the American psyche. This stigma was reinforced by erroneous conclusions drawn from Project Blue Book. American citizens who witnessed unexplainable phenomena often faced ridicule and persecution, serving as a deterrent for others to speak out. The UAP preliminary report states:

> “Narratives from aviators in the operational community and analysts from the military and IC describe disparagement associated with observing UAP, reporting it, or attempting to discuss it with colleagues. Although the effects of these stigmas have lessened as senior members of the scientific, policy, military, and intelligence communities engage on the topic seriously in public, reputational risk may keep many observers silent, complicating scientific pursuit of the topic.”

The bias and fear stemming from this stigma still pervade Congress, particularly among lawmakers who have not been briefed. Those without access to the classified report cannot draft meaningful legislation based on information they lack.

Robert Hastings has spent over four decades interviewing military personnel, all of whom report UFOs visiting military installations. These same crafts are reportedly responsible for ICBM site incursions and can disable our nuclear missiles at will.

In a recent interview with The Debrief, Lue Elizondo was questioned about the nuclear connection and stated:

> “AATIP was aware of the nuclear connection, there was a lot of information AATIP didn’t have access to that Robert Hastings did, and he did a fantastic job with his book about the nuclear connection.”

Elizondo continued:

> “We were able to validate and substantiate exactly what he was saying through intelligence reporting. Not only was it good and accurate at the end of the day it was helpful, in some cases there was a little information we didn’t have that he did.”

The Department of Defense’s AATIP program was initiated in 2007 and validated Hastings' research. Hastings' book "UFOs and Nukes," published in 2008, is not new information. This should have been included in the classified UAPTF report, yet it is absent from the NDAA legislation. Why?

In conclusion, not all members of Congress share the same understanding. The NDAA legislation reflects this disparity, allowing adversaries more time for substantial research while we remain mired in stigma.

Many American insiders express concern that China is progressing ahead of the U.S. in terms of resources allocated to investigating UAPs.

We have reached a point where Congress is jeopardizing American interests by concealing decades-old secrets that are already partially revealed.

Addressing the Political Challenge

Former presidents taking responsibility for decades of public deception regarding UFOs would face severe political consequences for themselves and their party. However, the Pentagon's assertion that UAPs pose a security threat provides a political avenue to initiate dialogue.

Former presidents are not required to be briefed on UFOs, as they were not regarded as security matters.

This solidified the notion that sitting presidents did not need to be informed and were not briefed about unidentified aerial phenomena.

The reality is that no president would find a positive political incentive to involve themselves in such a precarious situation. Plausible deniability allowed them to deflect accountability for their predecessors' errors.

Unlike other government officials, presidents do not undergo investigations and polygraph tests for security clearances. Upon election, they gain control over the nation's secret intelligence and can disclose any information at will.

They have access to any data they desire. However, once they are briefed on top-secret information regarding unidentified aerial phenomena, they lose the benefit of plausible deniability.

Nevertheless, the situation has evolved. For the first time, the Pentagon has officially stated that UFOs represent a security concern.

The Role of the National Security Council

The National Security Council (NSC) serves as the President's main platform for addressing national security and foreign policy issues with senior advisors and cabinet officials. Since its establishment under President Truman, the Council has aimed to advise and assist the President in coordinating national security matters among government entities.

The NSC is chaired by the President and regularly attended by the Vice President, the Secretary of State, the Secretary of the Treasury, the Secretary of Defense, and the Assistant to the President for National Security Affairs.

The U.S. Government formally stated in the June 25, 2021, ONI/UAP Task Force report, "Preliminary Assessment: Unidentified Aerial Phenomena":

> “Identification of potential aerospace or other threats posed by the UAP to national security, and an assessment of whether this UAP activity may be attributed to one or more foreign adversaries.”

Former presidents could have claimed plausible deniability because they weren’t briefed on perceived threats from UFOs. The report continues:

> “UAP pose a hazard to safety of flight and could pose a broader danger if some instances represent sophisticated collection against U.S. military activities by a foreign government or demonstrate a breakthrough aerospace technology by a potential adversary.”

As NSC chairman, the president is required to be briefed on classified unidentified aerial phenomena, including documentation, photographs, and videos.

He also needs access to all information concerning UAP within the Department of Defense to safeguard American defense interests.

The President of the United States takes an oath to:

> “support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic.”

Under state laws, betraying this oath could be considered treason or a serious crime, as presidents have been impeached for lesser offenses.

Historically, no president has delved deeply into the unidentified aerial phenomena, but this current administration should.

Mainstream Media's Role

Mainstream media should be addressing the national security implications by directing pertinent questions to the president. Regular inquiries regarding actions taken by the NSC and the President's knowledge about unidentified aerial phenomena should become routine.

There should be intense scrutiny over how global power dynamics might shift due to these observed technologies. The media has largely overlooked the consequences of a foreign adversary possessing such technology and its implications for world democracies' defense interests.

The media ought to highlight that UAPs have visited nearly every nuclear facility in the United States and the repercussions of those incursions. "Someone" is demonstrating technology that the U.S. acknowledges is superior to anything in its arsenal, being employed for incursions at American nuclear facilities, resulting in deactivated ICBMs.

Members of Congress possess varying levels of knowledge based on their access to the classified UAPTF report. The ongoing dialogue with Congress would shift significantly if all members had access to the classified version of the UAP task force report. The media should explore how these differing levels of information have influenced the language in the NDAA legislation.

On October 18, 2021, retired USAF officers, including retired captain Robert Salas, recounted their experiences with UAPs interfering with U.S. nuclear weapon systems.

Seizing the Moment

The president should initiate a dialogue with the American public now. Sharing declassified documents and releasing high-quality videos and data would demonstrate a commitment to government transparency.

The reality is that this president has reviewed the classified report and received briefings on Top Secret Pentagon documents as a matter of national security—plausible deniability is no longer an option.

The information hidden within Pentagon programs will soon be consolidated and analyzed within the new UAP office. Congressional leaders will conclude that foreign adversaries cannot be held accountable for all UAP incursions, leaving no mundane explanations. Congress will face the truth that the U.S. intelligence community, under Pentagon oversight, has concealed the existence of UFOs for decades.

The U.S. government will be held accountable for fostering the stigma surrounding UFOs and the damage it has caused. The political repercussions and the erosion of public trust in the government will be severe unless the president steps up to provide leadership at this juncture.

Emerging AI technologies will soon enhance the validation of existing UFO videos and photographs. Decades' worth of UFO footage and images are available online and will inevitably be processed by these advancements.

It is conceivable that evidence of UAP could emerge from the private sector before the U.S. government discloses more concrete information, leaving them unable to control the narrative and the public lacking faith in their government.

The inability of the president and Congress to move beyond their fears and truly abandon the stigma does not serve the best interests of American or global democracy.

While narrow-minded politicians in the U.S. struggle to accept that we might not be alone in the universe, adversaries like Russia and China are making strides toward unraveling these mysteries.

Fear may not just be the enemy of the mind; it could also destroy democracy if we fail to act in our own best interests and overcome our biases.

Technological treaties should have been established long ago to ensure that all nations collaborate to uncover the answers to the mysteries confronting us.

But that’s a story for another day.
