Exploring the Charms of Prague: A 13-Hour Journey

Written on

Chapter 1: A Morning Adventure Begins

After a long day of filming, I collapsed onto my bed as soon as I returned to my accommodation, even before breakfast was served. Thoughts swirled in my mind—like the crowded bathroom situation during peak hours and my friend's struggle to wake up after sleeping in.

With a strong desire to start my own adventure in Prague while everyone else was still asleep, I quickly showered and slipped out. Luckily, I wasn't the only one savoring the tranquility of an early Prague morning! While locals and tourists have different agendas, I embraced the cool breeze and aimed to kick off my day with a small cupcake.

This seemingly simple cupcake, with its adorable appearance, offered an explosion of flavors. The strawberry jam filling permeated the soft bread, and the aroma of vanilla created a heavenly experience with each bite. I had no particular expectations, but starting my day early made all the difference.

The first video, Exploring What To Do In PRAGUE 🇨🇿 [A Day In Prague Vlog], captures the essence of early morning exploration in this beautiful city.

Section 1.1: Art in the Air

One of the first art pieces I encountered was the sculpture known as "Hanging Freud." To appreciate its unique installation, one must look up towards the sky. With one arm dangling and his left hand resting casually in his pocket, Freud's relaxed expression belies the precariousness of his position.

What could have prompted the artist to create such a thought-provoking piece? Is it a commentary on embracing fate nonchalantly, or perhaps a reminder to maintain composure during life's challenges? Such interpretations can vary widely, and I believe discussing these themes fosters intellectual growth.

Section 1.2: A Tribute to Language

On my way to the cathedral before lunch, I stumbled upon a statue of Josef Jungmann. With a serious expression and a pen in hand, he symbolizes the significant impact he had on the Czech language, contributing to around 120,000 words.

This statue stands as a testament to Jungmann's legacy, with its patina reflecting years gone by, and his poised hand suggests the depth of thought he dedicated to his work.

Chapter 2: Architectural Wonders and Culinary Delights

The second video, 50 Things You MUST KNOW Before Visiting PRAGUE, provides essential tips for anyone looking to explore the city's architectural gems and local cuisine.

Section 2.1: A Grand Cathedral

The Church of Our Lady of the Snows was undoubtedly the most impressive cathedral I visited in Prague. While its exterior seemed modest, the interior revealed grand Gothic and Renaissance elements, enhanced by archangels that adorned the windows.

The contrast between the somber nave and the cathedral's bright ambiance created a harmonious balance that captivated me.

Section 2.2: A Unique Dining Experience

After leaving the cathedral, I met up with a friend at a nearby restaurant known for its deer meat. We felt excited to try something we couldn't typically find back in Korea.

Despite not having a reservation, we were lucky to get a table around lunchtime. We ordered both deer steak and rabbit stew, accompanied by Czech lager, Pilsner Urquell.

The Pilsner was refreshing and nutty, perfectly complementing our meal.

Deer Leg Steak: The deer meat was intensely flavorful, reminiscent of rich beef. The sweet rosehip and steak sauces paired well, balancing the meat's natural gamey taste.

Rabbit Leg Stew: The rabbit meat had a flavor akin to savory chicken, enhanced by a mild sauce that included bacon and mushrooms, adding depth to the dish.

Our meal was a perfect precursor to our further adventures in Prague.

Section 2.3: Iconic Landmarks

With our appetites satisfied, it was time to explore more of Prague. The Old Town Bridge Tower and Karl Bridge, adorned with Gothic features, were bustling with tourists, especially as the sun began to set, casting a golden hue over the river.

Under the Charles Bridge, there were spots for feeding pigeons and benches for relaxation, allowing us to soak in the beauty of Prague.

Section 2.4: Modern Marvels

We then visited the Dancing House, an architectural gem designed by Frank Gehry, which stands out against the backdrop of Prague's traditional Gothic buildings. The rooftop bar offers a breathtaking panoramic view of the city.

As the sun set over the Vltava River, I captured the picturesque scenery from Letna Park, where locals enjoyed leisurely strolls and family outings.

Dinner & Reflection

After an exhausting day of exploration, I opted for dessert instead of a full meal, much to the surprise of some. The shop owner welcomed me warmly, and I indulged in a selection of Czech pastries, each bite a delightful fusion of flavors, particularly the pistachio and chocolate.

Tonight marks our final evening in Prague before heading to Český Krumlov. Despite the challenges of sharing a single shower among four people, our teamwork has improved, and we've learned to navigate our travels together.

As I conclude my story for the day, I look forward to more adventures tomorrow. Thank you for joining me on this journey!
