Section 1.1: A Messy Middle Ground
I don’t see myself as either a compulsive cleaner or a complete slob—perhaps more accurately, I fall somewhere in between. Admittedly, I lean toward the latter. Despite the clutter of clothes draped over chairs and what my husband affectionately calls "piles of things," I usually know where to find everything. After all, my home is a space for living, and that means it will reflect the activity of its inhabitants. I’ve always been comfortable with this reality.
When guests arrive, it motivates me to clean more thoroughly, almost staging my home for their visit. However, I want to clarify that I’m not neglectful—I'm constantly tidying up, whether it’s picking up toys from my son's imaginative adventures or tackling the dishes and laundry countless times each day. Still, the mess persists.
…And life carries on.
