Chapter 1: A Busy Three Months

The title above doesn’t fully encapsulate the essence of this post. Over the past three months, one might have thought I had abandoned my efforts on Medium, but that’s far from the truth. I have been deeply immersed in organizing various aspects of my life that required immediate attention.

From enhancing my physical fitness to managing finances and nurturing personal relationships, I’ve had my hands full. Let’s rewind to July.

In July, I shared that I had recently completed a significant 53km run across Exmoor, aiming to establish a more consistent writing routine and engage with my audience on Medium.com. Unfortunately, that hasn’t materialized as planned, so here’s what’s been going on.

Section 1.1: August - Regrouping and Progressing

After the run in July, I took some time to recover and shifted my focus to something many of us tend to overlook: our finances. In four years, I aspire to own a home. I began my journey toward home ownership back in 2020, mapping out the necessary steps, required income, and the essential task of improving my financial standing.

I organized a workshop for the end of August and joined a local networking group, which has turned out to be a fantastic collection of individuals. Additionally, I spent time at the pull-up bar, managing to achieve my first set of six pull-ups with assistance bands.

Section 1.2: Serious Wedding Planning

In October 2022, I proposed to my girlfriend, and she accepted. Now, we are in the midst of planning our wedding, searching for the ideal venue and setting. September marked a significant advancement in our preparations, with venue viewings, color scheme trials, and, of course, the ever-present challenge of budgeting.

We had previously visited some lovely venues, including Hanbury Wedding Barn, which we were quite keen on. However, after seeing Shustoke Wedding Barn and Mythe Barn just over the border in Leicestershire, we found ourselves with stunning options. The final venue decision will be revealed next year.

Section 1.3: A Thrilling October

October flew by, filled with attending an 80s-themed business event and celebrating Halloween with my son and family. It also marked the anniversary of my engagement and two wonderful years with my fiancée. We celebrated with a lovely dinner at Ask Italia in Lichfield and a visit to the Cathedral.

As we moved into November, I found myself attempting to accomplish more in a shorter time frame, leaving little room to update my Medium community. I also enrolled in a new course focusing on CentOS7 server administration while managing client relationships and organizing a workshop for December.

If you’ve followed along this far, thank you for your patience.

Chapter 2: Earnings Overview

Despite a decrease in writing and engagement on Medium, my little corner of the platform has still generated some income each month. I extend my heartfelt gratitude to everyone who has continued to support my content here.

Section 2.1: Financial Stats

I considered sharing detailed statistics for the past few months, but it would take up too much space and time. Instead, here’s a snapshot of this month’s stats. Interestingly, traffic hasn’t declined compared to previous months, which is encouraging.

In summary, it’s been a whirlwind few months, and I’m not concluding this post with promises of more regular writing on Medium.
