Boosted Stories Collection for February 2024 - ILLUMINATION V5

Written on

Dear readers and writers! As February comes to a close, we are excited to unveil over 40 newly boosted stories curated through the nominations of our chief editor, Dr. Mehmet Yildiz, and Aiden from Illumination Gaming. This effort is also supported by our consulting editors at ILLUMINATION Publications. Boosted stories are highlighted by Medium as exceptional contributions.

This compilation is prepared for our subscribers on Substack, as requested by our readers, especially the Friends of Medium, who appreciate curated collections. These stories hold significant value as they have been nominated by our editors and subsequently accepted by Medium curators. We encourage you to share the friend links to help grow our Medium community.

We invite all non-members to consider becoming members to support our writers, as Dr. Yildiz elaborates in the linked story. By subscribing to Medium for just $5 a month, you can accelerate your audience growth and assist fellow writers in earning more. It’s a mutually beneficial scenario.

This curated collection aims to showcase well-crafted and impactful narratives while inspiring our writers through sample stories that meet or surpass distribution standards. We also offer curation services for non-boosted stories and feature new writers whose profiles you can find at the end of this post.

Most boosted stories are published on ILLUMINATION-Curated, a unique platform dedicated to showcasing high-quality, relatable, and insightful narratives from talented writers across more than 100 topics since 2020. This publication is specifically designed to highlight the works of accomplished authors.

In 2023, Medium implemented significant changes. In response, our chief editor outlined a strategy aligned with Medium’s direction for 2024.

As of October 2023, ILLUMINATION-Curated began nominating stories for boosting, with insights available from an interview featuring Dr. Mehmet Yildiz conducted by our editors.

Many new writers are joining our publications and are eager to understand the criteria for writing for ILLUMINATION-Curated. Unlike our other publications, this one focuses solely on experienced writers to meet the expectations of its dedicated readership. Interested individuals can find detailed submission guidelines.

If our services align with your goals after reviewing the guidelines, please reach out to Dr. Yildiz on ILLUMINATION’s Slack workspace for writer access. He also mentors many writers to enhance their chances of being boosted on Medium.

About 80% of our applicants fall into a middle category, making them valuable contributors to ILLUMINATION. We manage the workload between Readers Hope and ILLUMINATION-Curated to ensure balanced support for both platforms.

We start absolute beginners at Readers Hope, allowing them to gradually tap into a broader audience through ILLUMINATION and specialized publications like Synergy, Mirror, Book Chapters, Technology Hits, Gaming, Videos/Podcasts, and Nutrition. Writers who consistently submit high-quality stories are considered for ILLUMINATION-Curated.

Congratulations to ILLUMINATION Gaming for becoming a new boost nominating publication on Medium. Aiden, our diligent editor and owner of the gaming publication, announced this achievement and began featuring writers by analyzing their stories. He educates our writers on the common traits of boosted stories. Here are the first installments in his series:

  • Lessons Learned from Boosted Stories — Episode #1 by Dr. Mehmet Yildiz
  • Lessons Learned from Boosted Stories — Episode #2 by Matt Williams-Spooner, Ph.D.
  • Lessons Learned from Boosted Stories — Episode #3 by Joan Naidorf
  • Lessons Learned from Boosted Stories — Episode #4 by Jozsef Kovacs

We eagerly await your contributions in all our publications and will select well-crafted and memorable stories through our nominators. Additionally, Medium curators have organically boosted numerous stories from ILLUMINATION, which we plan to feature in a future collection.

Supporting Friends of Medium Subscribers

One of our primary goals in creating curated collections is to support Friends of Medium who follow our publications. Dr. Mehmet Yildiz has articulated the value of this program, sharing his vision and strategies for aiding these members who contribute significantly to our writers’ incomes. You can explore his insights in his stories.

At the conclusion of this post, we will introduce new writers who have recently joined us.

For new authors, any story submitted to ILLUMINATION-Curated must adhere to Medium’s distribution and boosting guidelines, just like any other publication we manage. We emphasize that the content should resonate with the discerning readership of this publication.

We value diversity and variety, meaning there are no topic restrictions as long as stories comply with Medium’s policies and our values. Currently, we cover over 100 topics, focusing on substantial and meaningful content for our readers, with plans to expand as our writers and readers propose new topics.

We do not impose censorship as long as stories align with Medium’s guidelines. Please review our submission guidelines and comprehensive checklist before submitting your impactful and well-crafted stories to ILLUMINATION-Curated.

  • New Writers: Enhance the Chance of Boosting By Using This Checklist

As Medium now requires paid membership for the Partner Program, we will also include stories from members in this publication to uphold our high standards and commitment to our loyal readers. However, our other publications continue to support non-members.

> Except for the Lampshade of ILLUMINATION, our publications do not accept AI-generated content. Please familiarize yourself with our AI writing policy.

In addition to Medium’s distribution guidelines, ILLUMINATION-Curated has established a specific set of criteria to enhance publication quality. We strive for high standards but do not demand perfection. We believe every writer can improve with constructive feedback from readers, editors, and peers, aiming to provide our subscribers with an enjoyable reading experience.

How Do We Promote Non-Boosted Stories?

As mentioned earlier, only about 1% of stories receive boosting from Medium, yet we still publish thousands of excellent stories to delight our loyal readers. Beyond sharing on social media, our editors create curated collections to present to our audience. Here are various types of curation services provided by our volunteer editors and curators.
